Outside Pink Snapper on Fly!
Submitted by Anonymous on Mon, 2015-10-05 16:29
Over the many years I've enjoyed targeting pink snapper with great results. Catching pinkys on fly is a big buzz for me and with the demersal ban looming I'm taking any opportunity!
Over the last few nights I've been out fishing the outer area's of Cockburn Sound and doing well on snapper on fly. I went back out again last night and got into another 2 fish on fly whilst my good mate Scott (FW soupster 51) got 2 on McArthy softplastics!

You are a maestro
You are a maestro - where most battle to catch Pinkies on bait, you catch them on fly. I will be paying you a visit soon to rig up on fly tackle for Snapper. You have me salivating.

At night
Are you able to fly fish at night, as always wonder about using plastics in the dark? Or were they taken later.

Pinky/Fly
Callum, yeh mate we're going back up again and I will talk to Tangs about options!
Fisheagle, we stock a large range of fishing gear but we only stock the basics for flyfishing. Send me a PM and I will give you all the info you need and where to buy it from!
Jason, yes mate I have caught plenty of pinks at night on fly and SP's. Photo's are normally taken on the spot but if too ruff/windy I will do back at the ramp. The last fish I caught on fly that night was caught as the sun disapeared and it went all dark .... used my flood lights so Soupy could net my fish!
Cheers fella's for your comments ..... appreciated

Pinks
Thanks again for the session Ryan. Managed to get my first two pinkies on SPs. Awesome short trip out.
The best reason for doing what's right today is tomorrow.
