Overlander accommodation

Hi FW crew, got a trip to Exy coming up but won't be able to leave Perth until the young fella finishes school around 3.00pm. Not sure if I should pack the swags (will just be me and him so easy as) and just pull over anywhere, or book a room at the Overlander and make life easy. Not expecting to get there until quite late.
Any one with recent experience there or other suggestions?
Cheers,
BD.

No recent experience
but the missus and I used to stay there on our trips to Exy. I recall them closing around 9pm and their website confirms the opening hours for their facilities as 6am - 9pm. 24hr diesel truck stop. I'm sure the young bloke won't miss a day off school.

That was my thoughts Alan, unfortunately he has an assessment that afternoon so can't even go at lunch time....spewing.
Thanks for the info.

Book a room at Wooramel roadhouse, they leave the room open for late arrivals if you let them know

stayed at overlander a coule
stayed at overlander a coule of years ago and the donga i got was pretty average and have never been back. i have stayed at billabong a few times over the last few years and the dongas were great. i just drove by overlander a couple of days ago and it looks like they have tidy up the joint. we also use to swag it at gladstone lookout many moons ago and then in the morning head to Wooramel for breakfst the next morning.

Hi all, just wanted to mention that we stayed at Overlander on the way up and back, accommodation was clean and tidy. It isn't a luxury resort, but suited our purpose well and I would do it again. Would have liked to try Billabong as I've only heard good things but it just worked out this way.
Thanks for all the comments & info.
Cheers,
BD.
