Well done to you and your son you have caught 2 great tailor and congratulations on the release, to me the big green backs like that are not the best of tailor to eat. But they are a hell of a thing to catch.
Your young bloke will not forget those sessions. My old man took me there exactly 30 years ago. Caught some monster tailor over the years. They just happen to be up there now. My favourite lure was a big red head popper launched into a howling southerly. Good to see they are still around as I always tried to release the real big ones.

We threw some lures around at a beach I like to fish every now and then and scored a personal best of 86cm of Tailor ,
