Had weekend away with the missus down south. Take your fishing gear she said. Never one to pass up the opportunity I thought I'd give it a shot. I have never fished the beach before and following some info posted by a couple of guys in the discussion section I was hoping for a mulloway but expecting a few whiting. Anyway imagine my surprise when I managed to land a 74cm pinkie.

I caught it on a small whole whiting in the middle of the beach next to a small reef. Apparently there was also fish at the river mouth where the surfers are. Good luck.
