Perth marlin

To be safe what's the best outfit to chase Perth marlin as most of them seem to be quite large, 24kg or 37kg. Fishing from a trailer boat and only ever caught a couple of small blacks in ex mouth.

24kg with the right drag set
24kg with the right drag set should be plenty. i havnt caught one myself but there are a lot on here that have and most from my understanding use the 24kg with a long double

24kg
24 kg on a 50W should do the job. Unless you get one of those big blues that go off.
The one tagged on the last comp was on 37kg and apparently took about 750m off on the first run.

Check this link out
There are some interesting comments from pro deckies and lure makers. With respect to whether 24 or 37 is the best, it sounds like boat handling skills maybe the key.

Edit: the link does not necessarily debate the 24 or 37kg options but it should still be a good read.

my opinion!
Dirt, if your talking big blues then 37kg/80w bent butts are the way to go simple.........everything else 24kg/50W is suitable!
