one my mates/ dive partners shot a spanish mackerel of about 9-10kg ish ( not big) in yallingup. very strage that far down. in about 20m of water too. on the bottom and by itself

Yep,
quite a few were caught along the SW coast last season. With Gracetown being something of a hot spot.
