pinnaroo point all night

headed down to pinaroo last night with chan and liam with the hope to stretch our arms on some rays tehe

was tons of whiting around but hard to hook, the herring came on at dusk and the odd yakka so we had our baits

managed about 6 runs and landed 2 rays aswell as a little fiddler and a nice shovelnose but got smoked by something substantial on the last run of the night

all the fish were taken on my rod strangely but i shared it around with us taking turns in catching em

wasnt a bad night but the sand that gets in everything is driving me insane

might just stick to the stones for nowWink

those rays would work you over on a big rod , try a boat rod much easier.(assuming that is a beach rod your using) cheers Pete

Not even one colin, kinda

Mon, 2009-02-16 12:26

Not even one colin, kinda sucked lacking the tailor live bait. Finished the night with 2 rays and 1 shovel. 1 each for us 3. by the morning, there was a vow made, never to do an allnighter at the beach again. The amount of sand in all our bags, gear, tackle was completely rediculous. by next evening, i opened my car up and was so pissed off that i had so much to clean lol.

How to balance the love of my car with my love of fishing... Fish-wrxed?

That sand at Pinaroo is like icing sugar

Mon, 2009-02-16 12:43

It gets everywhere and it is really hard to get off your gear - especially out of your car.
I am staggered that you never caught one tailor. That tells me they have moved on and saves me making a trip down there.
Seems like Floreat Drain or maybe Cott Groyne is the place to go at the moment.
