PLEASE HELP! Girlfriend and I travelling west coast (albany to top) need hot fishing spots
Hi everyone I'm a new member here. My girlfriend and I have driven from Victoria to have a few months exploring the beautiful west coast, mainly to fish. We currently are ion esperance but heading towards Albany today. Thinking we will spend a week or so getting to Perth. We have gear for soft plastics and small baitfishing ATM. But I think we will buy a couple of bigger rods for some beach fishing. We ate also considering buying a tinny or smallish boat in Perth.
So if anyone can help us with some good locations it would be greatly appreciated. We would love to meet people for a fish and a beer too. Even better still if anyone wants company for a day out on their boat fishing we are happy to pay fuel and bring a few froths.
So hi everyone from myself and my Gf as new members and visitors to the west. Hopefully talk soon

walpole and denmark
seeing as you are geared up for smaller fish denmark and walpole inlets fish well for black bream and other species, soft placcies work a treat. Beach fishing is pretty good around esperance maybe get some longer rods while you are there

please explain pauline!
gday mate, do you have a 4wd , do you know how to drive on soft sand tracks and beachs, letting tyres out etc
if so esp to albany has many many good beach fishing spots. Get yourself a good map , and you will see most of the
little tracks headn south from the main hway lead to a beach somewhere. Be aware if its during the week , not many people
go to these spots , so your on your own, make sure you know what your doing. Find yourself a gutter( deep channel)
and fish just before high tide. There could be salmon , skippy herring etc. large gear not always needed, depending on the
wind and weather
If no 4wd, then all your inlets and town beachs as mentioned already are the way to go.
good luck , maybe a story again latter in the week on how you went, will get you some more advise.
and as there are alot of old perverts on the site, haha maybe a pic of the missus holding a fish!

If you ever get as far north as Port Hedland, drop me a line. Salmon season is in full swing up here.
I'm here for a good time, not a long time. Lets go fishing!

welcome Troutkiwi
unfortunately you are in the middle of some pretty shitty weather. You are however heading through some beautiful country down in the South and south west. As Rig has suggested Walpole and Denmark have some great options for small gear. If you are heading inland a bit up toward Pemberton then you have a chance to do some Trout fishing. When you are in Albany I suggest you cruise down to Emu Point for a look. A nice restraunt there and a great place to fish with lite gear. Plenty of options around Albany on the coast and inland.
Good luck with your travels. Keep us posted on results.

Hi, I would recomend you get
Hi,
I would recomend you get your hands on one of the local fishing guide books, they are full of info on the fish, rigs and locations and cost around $10 - $15 .
Sandgropers guide to better fishing or Phil Stanleys fishing WA are the two currently still in print. However if you pass any second hand book shops have a look for Fishing the Wild West, By Ross Cusack and Mike Roennfeldt. its the best of the small guides and has heaps of great info.
Cheers

Wow thanks woody for putting
Wow thanks woody for putting me onto this. We got a few whiting at Dandy before the weather came through. We are now in Bremer Bay and have purchased a big beach rod and got onto a couple monster salmon. Keep the info coming! I have done a fair bit of beach driving before but at the moment im lacking a compressor to get the tyres back up to pressure so at the moment got to walk from the carpark but i dont mind that.
Hopefully this weather dies off so we can get more fishing in.
Shaunn66 we will be up there in a month or so i think but ill keep in touch. Looking forward to meeting some members for a fish. Anyway hanging here for a day or so then on to Albany.

Hi mate when you finish in
Hi mate when you finish in perth and start heading north Jurien bay is a great little town for a fish. Sandy Cape is a 10 miniute drive from the town and great spot for tailor, Skippy and hering. another one of my favourites is Lucky bay and Kalbarri for your chance for a big tailor
