Point Peron Sewer Pipe.

Reading WA Water Authority Annual reports to gather more information on their performance for the wate water outlets Point Peron, City Beach & Swanbourne and found an item that might be of interest in their metrics for past several years. No reports of odours or discolouration of water. So if anyone does, note to yourself to report it to the Water Corp for their records.

They continue to tell us that algal blooms are natural, won't argue with that, BUT the WA Health Dept warn that excessive nutrients will cause larger blooms. So if the WA Water Corp continue to pump out crap it only stands to reason that we will get large algal blooms. Haven't got this years report out but for 2016 & 17 the water corp have exceeded the license requirement for dischaging Faecal Pathogens (PC way of saying shit germs) into the water, Letters to the minister for water is okay with that. For those that fish Rocky area out from Point Peron plans are to double the volume discharged as East Rockingham WWTP grows.

Double standards?

Wed, 2018-05-30 18:56

So reading the above I take it they are reporting nearly 4 times the target or guideline , or 50%  above the standard.

mmm I have to compare  the same govts reaction when you excede the speed limit by 4x or you take 50% more fish or crays above your limit?

And as Adam said do they sample a week after storms or wait till it all  settles down?

And it would be good to know the total volume of discharge over a year , as its not like we all dont pay enough taxs or the state govt

hasnt over the years got billions in mining royaltys , so  isnt a clean , well run city too much to ask?.

emails ignored

My initial email to Mr Premier was diverted to Minister Kelly

I followed up with Minister Kellys office a week later asking how long one should wait for a response to the questions raisec regarding WWTP

That was over two weeks ago - no response to initial questions about WWTP and no response the question of how long one should wait for a response......

who voted these blokes in?????

I got my reply back from the

I got my reply back from the premier, appears he is okay with it all, and while he questioned the water minister back in 2012 as to why point peron was not being closed in 2015, he now tells me it will run to 2030. Not good enough. To add insult the pipeline stays with current volume a d it will double as East Rockingham WWTP is completed. Maybe one complaint from Asia with poor quality crayfish will get some action.
