Polycraft

Hi guys
Have been checking out the Polycraft plastic boats, mainly the 3m Tuff Tender or the 4.1m. Are these boats in general any good? Does anyone on here have one, and how do they ride? I've heard that they absorb up the bumps and ride really well?

i had a 4.1 side console
i had a 4.1 side console with a 50 yamaha 4 stroke on the back, great boat and easy to modify as you like, i had rod lockers, electric motor, live bait tank, extended casting deck, 2 sounders, it was fully set up from bream fishing.
Super stable and a little heavy but it made it ride real well, i'd recommend the 4.1 for a good estaury/creek boat for sure and if i was allowed i'd have one again

Thanks for the reply
So you rekon the 3m is too small for the Swan River? It would be cheaper for me to get one because i live 100m from the river so i wouldnt' need a good trailer, a 4.1 would be too big for me- cost and size.
Have you been in a 3m?
Also, is that a Polycraft in your display picture?

Tuff Tender
Gday Ben
the 3m Tuff Tender is plenty for the swan. Really stable and rides suprisingly well. I use one as roof topper and head out surfing the offshore reefs at Warroora. Can be wet in the chop....but any boat this size is. They are now 20kg lighter and have good handles built in to move them around with. Maybe hit up one of the dealers for a test run.

Thanks DaveI've done some
Thanks Dave
I've done some research and have seen them on the net. 67kg is a light dinghy and i've seen them go quick with a 6hp. I live south of the river and only 100m from the water, so i wouldn't need a trailer.
A test run may not be possible because I wouldn't go to Wangara (Closest to me) to get a test run. Sounds the goods to me.
Keep in touch

can't comment on what is good
can't comment on what is good for the swan but if you're a solo fisherman then i can't see why not. 4.1m opens a few more options for you like getting out into cockburn sound on a good day. Yes thats was my old 5.3m centre console in my avatar.

sold now mate. my reason for
sold now mate. my reason for suggesting the 4.1 is you will grow tired of a small boat and want more. I've gone from my 4.1m side console to a 5.3m centre console and now i've left the plastic world and i have a 625 Cruisecraft. next will be a 7.2-7.5m ali in 3 years time almost certian of that!
Comes down to your budget too i think my old boat is for sale (4.1m) but you'd be looking at 10k

I'm in the same position as
I'm in the same position as you.
We sold our 5.6m voyager which was a beast to get a bigger one. Dad said in the mean time you can get a dinghy. So I foolishly picked the first one and loved it. Its a great dinghy 3.9m 30hp merc, but now the 2006 merc is encountering problems. It makes me feel unsafe when i go in it, so i thought we could sell it and get a smaller one to wheel down 100m to the river.
We might be getting this one. 8.5m A mates gone on it and he reckons its gold. Offered him $28k and he said he took it, but the mate already had a bayliner! Lol
