Polycraft-hyperthetical

Haven't heard anything bad about these boats since their creation and they seem like good value for money. Was initially scheptical as to how youd go repairing damage to them in the long run but so far from what ive heard theyre unbreakable. They make them up to 6 metres which has me curious why they don't make an offshore 7 metre model. If they did how many people would consider buying one and I'm curious how well they'd handle conditions out wide. What are your thoughts

In a previous life I worked with rotomolded poly products, and after that you really get to appreciate how tough the the shit is. Not only is it easy to repair with a heat gun, but you can munch it up and do it all again too, its exceptionally recyclable.
Having an oven big enough to hold a mold big enough to make a 7m boat is an impressive feat, but I was blown away when I saw these appear;
I guess if you can make workboats that big, you can do just about anything!
Actually you CAN buy an offshore poly boat, the brand is triumph and the model is the 215CC;
Slight problem is no distro in Australia at present?

That bottom ones the same
That bottom ones the same company witht the 'bubba test'. Seems there used to be a dealer though, and seems some 195's kicking around but did they ever bring in the 215?
To me, the polys seem more like ali style and the triumphs more like a glass style boat?

We looked at the 215cc for a while before buying our rig. Saw one in Mandurah. Was a pretty impressive boat, overwidth at 2.59m though :-(. Too hard when alot of our fishing and towing in Busso was at night.

Had a 5.3 for a couple of years, over powerd the hull and ran it hard for 600 hours and never had any hull problems. The can be wet and have limited sorage space, but you can get around it easily enough.
I've now got a 599 centre console thats been fully set up for extended trips, havent used it a great deal yet but its definatly dryer/comfy then the 5.3.
Cheers

Poly boats
We have the Triumph 215 cc. Other half has 'pimped' it a bit recently and added trim tabs which have improved the ride heaps. Lots of storage lockers, easy to hose down and keep clean and yes they are tough! Think there are still dealers over east selling them. We got ours from Purslowe' in mandurah before they closed. Seen 1 other 215 and a couple of smaller ones down that way. Great fishing boat but equally good for cruising around and on the river. Hope this helps!

Polycrafts are a very heavy
Polycrafts are a very heavy boat for there size, i have asked them about a 6.8m walkaround style boat but they wanted to focus on the smaller end for now. I have seen that they are using a new plastic that is much lighter and looking to upgrade the HP with the new plastic models but this a way off yet.
I've owned 2 polycrafts and you can't beat their no bullshit approach, they are no fuss machines and nice and simple, not real pretty but i did find the 5.3m a little wet for my liking. What i wouldn't give to see a Triumph 215 on the water, you probably wouldn't even know it's plastic by looking at it.

We launch out of hillarys so if you're ever up that way you might see us. A lot of people comment on it and you're right, doesn't really look like plastic at all!

Yeah
If someone made a 7 metre with a cab or centre cab I reckon it would be a really good thing. At the moment the polycrafts seem like more of an alternative to an open tinny. The triumph boats look really good, hopefully they'll bring out a cabin option and possibly a higher freeboard I'd be extremely tempted to buy one.

7 mtr Poly means a very big
7 mtr Poly means a very big oven. SO thats possibly the biggest problem. That and the tool cost to make it would over half a million at least for a plan boat.
