Port Kennedy

Hey guys, went down to Port Kennedy friday arvo to try flicking some soft plastics for the first time, using a zman grub 2" in bloodworm I hooked up to my first fish on a lure.(not including some small squid on jigs) Before this I was sort of thinking catching fish on lures is a myth even though seeing people get fish on lures in the past.  Other than the flatty I hooked(released and swam off strong after the picture) I got some trumpeter with some of them being not even 2.5 times the size of my plastic (often foul hooked but all released and swam away healthy)

Just shows that mostly all that is needed is to get fishing and try different ideas. Good luck for the next outing. Thx for sharing.

hey I was going to try soft plastics, do you jig them like lures or just fish like normal real bait?

There are a lot of retreives mate

but my favourite is cast out let it drop to where ever you want it to go in the water column and flick flick let it sink back down with a bit if a pause then flick flick and just keep doing that

google it mate you'll get more than results :)

hey guys cheers, barracuda i was just casting out letting it hit the bottom then used a slow retrieve with a couple of flicks every now and then.  I have heard you can just rig up a soft plastic like bait but wheres the fun in that haha!
