Pot theives

Still hasn't stopped. Good mate has lost 3 big jarrah pots in 2 weeks.2 from 35 m of water nwest from point peron .and 1 from inside Sth West Bank. They haven't been cut . 2 dives in 35 m mark not on the bottom anywhere. Question has anyone used small gps saterlite transmitters yet? Cost around 30 dollars silastic them inside pot . ( out of view) Once they hit surface they can be located. In all my years I have never seen so many pot thefts? Pretty sad really . Karma will get them one day. I would hate to have to replace 3 pro jarrah pots. Not cheap.

Was thinking about these pre-cray season
Never got around to it. The only drama is apparently you can buy scramblers to mess with the gps signal, not sure if the pot thieves will be thinking this far ahead....
Still a good idea I think.

Hope to see the pots in someone boat one day at the ramp, not hard to ID them pots, may be time to weld an ID plate to the base. or a mine that blow's the prick up as the pot is pulled.

Lucky so far
Only had my pots in for a week and half (I know, late start to the season) but it's always such a relief to see all four where we left them.

Yeah seems this season has been worse for pot theft then any other. There was a bloke on here at the start of the season who had some great idea or device that was gonna help prevent people getting there pots pulled. I wonder what ever happened to that, hopefully they are still working on it.

Pot Theives and total lost pots
Hi Just heads up on the on the pot pulling device I am working on .Unfortunately We lost 3 pots out of four behind Garden Island . This was before I was able to test my set up. Will have to wait till next season when I have made new pots . I know its an ongoing thing and it cost money to replace the pots and ropes etc. Will keep the site posted when I drop the new pots next season .
If the guys who have lost pots could you give a number of pots that have gone missing on this thread. Gives an idea the numbers missing .
