Well, this was a bloody surprise. TimVB jigged this up on the weekend. It went bloody hard on PE3 and we were expecting a MUCH larger fish. Tim was very disappointed.....
Dirty Buff Bream I presume, but fought like 10 bastards! If only they took jigs more often....must have been Tim's weed like jig assist......haha.

They fight like mad. Saw a big school under one of the jetties in the cut. As the herring was slow tried tying a piece of "rock cabbage" to the hook and Wow. A smallish model ate it, and on the light herring flicky it was a blast. After the fight and landing I was very impressed with the power, but couldn't get another on the line.
Another shit fish with power to burn up north is a swordtail catfish. man with that tail they have a fight and a half, and I thought I had a decent black Jew attached.
