Prawning! In this weather?
Submitted by slothwan on Wed, 2009-06-24 14:27
Has anybody bothered to do any dabbing in this weather?
I haven't in my open runabout. Maybe when my mate gets back from over east, then we can take his beast out. duck into the cabin for some shelter.

More there this year!
I rekon the catch has been pretty good this year, seems to be more people than ever though. Seen some great setups for lights etc... one bloke had these great pvc tubes that went into the water at the back of his boat with lights in them then big floodies up at head level. Would be bloody brilliant.

Maybe they really like
Maybe they really like prawns!
Between my Father-in-law and I, we'd catch and keep 40kg's over 2 days if we could - he has a big family and so do I
That would give me a nine inch too!

Just looked it up... you're right Bodie - 9 litres it is (bag limit)
There was no mention of a boat limit so I take it if you have 3 on the boat each person is allowed to catch 9 litres (Total 27)??

There is no boat limit.
2 peeps on the boat=18 litres.
5 peeps on the boat=45litres
and so on and so forth.

I'll keep it going
AND there should be a boat limit. This year was a great year, what happens if they(prawns) are over fished and it takes another 5 years for the level to return to how it is know? CRAZY.
P.S. I wish I caught more!!

i think it will go the same way as draging the net did, we used to get huge numbers and within a couple of years you were lucky to get a handfull for bait

I belive so
fished there a few times for bream and tailor seen people grabing a few with scoop nets not in great numbers but this was midmorning, out going tide.you could see them sitting behind the pylons to get out of the current.
