Project boat deconstruction

Started pulling the lil Whaler apart yesterday. Plan is to turn her into a big open dingy with a 100 horse tiller steer on the rear. The main deck came out in one piece which is great so it can be re used. Just need to dig out the old fuel tanks and all of that damn foam.

Be interesting to see the condition of the stringers once you get all the foam out.

I'd rather have em completely munted which forces the play to replace them whilst the deck is out.So far the whole boat has been solid glass with a paper mache transom.

Keeps me off the streets when I can’t fish Dave.

I'm enjoying this one as it's project boat #4. #5 is on the radar at the moment. Best thing about living up here is there's old clapped out boats everywhere. I found a 21ft Haines Hunter the other day in someone's front yard covered in vines, imagine the little centre console I did but five feet longer with 250 horses on the back... :D

Big tillers are the norm up here.

Lots of 6m Hooker open boats running around with Merc Seapro 115's on the back. There's a couple of Zook 140's that fang about too. Best I've seen so far was a boat that was absolutely flying pull up to the dingy jetty and the soul occupant was a girl in school uniform. Made me smile for weeks!.
