Prop for 150 Efi Mercury
Submitted by wrighty on Thu, 2011-09-29 07:16
Have just put a 150efi on my 6m f/g c/c.
Like to know what prop other users are running.
The prop I have is s/s 19p.Max revs 5200.I know I should be getting up to 5600.
Also like to know what fuel usage you are getting. Atm I'm using over 2litres/pnm. My 98 carb 130hp Johnno only used 1.5 p/nm.
I've talked already talked to Just props but would like to hear from owner/users of this motor.Especially in regards to fuel.
Any info greatly appreciated.

Your fuel usage will be
Your fuel usage will be higher for afew reasons.
the 150 is a V6 compared to the V4 johnno
being over propped will lug the engine ,using more fuel and oil.
Drop down to a 17"

What type 19/p prop Mirage
What type 19/p prop Mirage Vengance ? Have a look at a 4 blade trophy maybe. All props perform differently some give bow lift some transom lift do your homework what engine height are you running is the cave plate below the hull, level or above set up on a outboard is critical for performance and economy . 6m boat with a 19 and only 150 hp is wishful thinking maybe if you had a 200 i would start with a 17/p try a few props see what works best and go from there.Your local merc dealer should be able to set you up with a few test props though you will have to put down a deposit.
