The Prowler
Submitted by DazSamFishing on Mon, 2010-08-09 17:02
Here she is. The Prowler sitting in the driveway. We've been without a boat for 3 years (boy does the time fly) - I can't explain how excited I was when we picked her up.
Details:
Haines Hunter Prowler 520; Honda 90; Furuno Sounder; Lowrance HDS Plotter; Northstar VHF; Dunbier Trailer.
I've spent a few hours in it, both on water & on land. It's already been blooded.
I'll get some more pics up in due course.
Can't wait for the next Exxy trip.

Very sexy ride.
How does it perform with the 90? I went for a ride in the runabout version with the Honda and it was barely ok.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Nice looking rig!!
Did you buy it new? Also I would have thought that a 90HP should be ample, I had a Trophy 17ft CC with a 115HP and it was scary fast!!

FF - yes, limited storage
FF - yes, limited storage place at home. We're looking at doing some bobcat work to get it around the side, but will settle on a custom cover in the interim.
Dodgy - performs well with the 90. Good lightweight & economical motor. Well chosen prop. It gets comfortably on the plane. A 115hp would make this thing boogy.
I spoke to a bloke who has a 100hp Yammy & he mentioned it struggles a bit & is looking at removing the standard prop.
I'll be doing a lot of solo trips, so the 90 (being minimum for this hull) is more than adequate.

Haven't had her at WOT yet Matt. WOT offshore doesn't mean much to me anyway.
Although, I've cruised at 23 knots comfortably at 4000rpm.

Sweet ride, and very much what I would like to move to only slightly bigger.
I don't know about you but I think it is rather rude to ask what someone pays for a boat, or anything really. I'm sure a pm would be better. JMO

Nice rig, I agree, 23-25
Nice rig, I agree, 23-25 knots at 4000rpm means your motor is performing well for your boat. Good economy.
How big is your fuel tank?
