pulled my arms off!

First Amberjack - "wow" - by-far hardest fight I've ever had;

Caught lots of sambos and YTKs and none had anything on this (albeit I've never caught either over 20kg - so a bigger YTK might be a diff story....I know other people like to debate the best fighter out there, but I can only comment on personal experience and this is it for me (so far)).

Came in just a touch under 34kg.
Pulled up from about 100 metres, south passage tantabiddi.

(Initially thought I'd hooked up on the bottom as we were on a fast drift on some snaggy ground, but then started ripping off line in the opposite direction to our drift).

I know not a prised eater, but kept it for the BBQ as it was buggered by the time we got to the boat.....tasted a like Mackie to me.

75lb fish on 50lb gear - pretty happy with it :)

sorry about the crappy pics - couldn't transfer from phone too well

 They go bloody hard!! The 30kg one I speared dragged me 500m from where I shot it and tried to reef me to throw the spear about 20 times!! Powerful fish that's for sure and much more stubborn than sambos but still have to say a big YTK makes anything I've ever fought look silly!!
