Peron Fishing Shark Bay

Brother and I are heading up to Denham next week. I have fished there many times. Usually take a dinghy up to Cape Peron but this time am taking my 5m quintrex.

I am wondering wether we will get that through to Gregories for a beach launch with my Troopie? Otherwise it will be fishing out of Denham.

Any thoughts?

When I was up there a week back several people tried to go up there only to find the road closed but not before they paid the fee to enter. As you can imagine they were a bit pissed off.

Was it closed because the salt pans had been flooded Guardy? I have seen a 5m approx plate ally towed in there on a tandem trailer once before, not sure if I would do it though. The worst part is the last part of the track as you probably know.

I don't know. Just heard the story that the guys thought that they had been ripped off as when they paid the fee no one said that the road was closed further up the park road.

Yeah that's a bit rude. Should of had a sign at the sign in area. I'm interested as we are going up there in the July school holidays and was wondering how much rain it takes to make the salt pans impassable. Will do as you said above and ring the rangers before heading up.

Cheers

gday boppo, went out to cape peron yesterday all tracks are open noe were closed because of rain with the cyclone track is a bit rough but if you take it easy should be fine. Is very windy up here at the moment, when we can get out the fishing is good, hope this helps.

in Francios peron was closed or Locked up due to the cyclone. Was advised that they would be reassessed on Monday last week. I would have been surprised if it was still locked up as it didnt look that bad around. But obviously couldnt get in.

Water was pretty dirty Monkey

Water was pretty dirty Monkey Mia side but still picked up a few macks and a 47cm blue bone on thursday. Was in about 6-7m between Dubaut Point and Faure island. Hooked a big spanish on a floater out back, got it to the side of the boat but he kept on diving out of reach of the gaff. Third time lucky i hoped so i locked the dragged and went to skull drag it but he turned his head and the leader gave way next to the boat. My wives friend told me when we were back in Denham she had never seen me that angry haha
