Quantum Smoke Inshore

 Hi all,

just wondering if anyone owns one of these reels or has owned any of the Quantum gear and what they think in general. These reals are designed for saltwater, have good amount of drag (8kg 30 size and 11kg 50 size) and are well priced at around $150. Any other reel suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have the Quantum Smoke Inshore reel. The reel started off very nice and smooth, but after a few months the handle has come loose. The screw (which is an annoying star screw) is difficult to acces and even with extreme tightening seems to come loose every trip due to boat banging. Paint has also scratched off the drag know and other parts without too much use. They do have the large drag pressure and 10 ball bearings but if i had my time again i would have gone with a shimano Nasci or Socorro, which although dont have the same ball bearings have similar drag pressure and are a trusted brand at a similar price.

Thanks saltyseamen, I had a feeling that they might be too good to be true. Think I might have to bite the bullet and fork out for Sustain FG or a Stradic FK.
