Quick overnight camping south of carnarvon

Hi all,
I am going up to Exmouth in about 3 weeks time. I am looking for a spot just south of Carnarvon to do an overnighter and early departure the following morning.
I will have a boat and camping gear, so plan is to set up a dome tent without pegs and fly just to get some sleep.
Have heard of a spot 60Km south on the east side, and also a spot called Bush Beach. Just a simple "loop" off the hwy will suffice - no toilets nessesary.
Thank you
Chris

Bush bay
Not sure how good the track in to Bush bay will be after the 2 inches of rain we received today and more to come in coming days. It can get boggy and stay that way for weeks.
There is a camping spot about 60km south on the eastern side of the road with dunnies that is about 100 metres off the main road , its sign posted so shouldn't be hard to spot.

From what I've seen bush bay is a great place to meet the locals.

Bush Bay
I agree with Carnarvonite...
The road to Bush Bay might be fairly knackered.... soooo I wouldnt hold much hope for the track into Gladstone either...
The track to the coast from the highway is not very long though, so it will still probably be worth driving in as far as you can, coz if it is buggered, its not far back to the highway...
Take some mozzie/fly repelent!!!!! They will be friendly!!!!

Take the time to put the fly on unless you enjoy being woken up at 2 am with water dripping from the ceiling of the tent. You will be amazed at the condensation biuld up without the fly.
