Quick trip out with the boys..
Hi crew quick report from a couple of weekends ago, fw members Nelly and Brody headed up to my neck of the woods (Dongara) for the weekend. The plan was to chase a few winter Tailor and hopefully get out and jig up a few Dhus and Coral Trout if weather permitted...
I had to work the Sat morning and by the time I headed out in the boat around 3.30pm Nelly and Brody had already been out all day and were heading home. A quick hello on the way past and the boys headed for the ramp while I continued on another 5 km to my secret Trout spot.
First drop on my "secret" spot and this 700mm Trout nailed my 145mm Squidgy flickbait... (sorry Neil and Brody)
After catching a few small Dhuies and Sambo's for an hour or so we headed back in.
The next day (Sunday) Neil and Brody and I set off early chasing Tailor on stickbaits and poppers with 10 or so Tailor caught for the morning a quick arvo jig session was in order...
One of the many rat Sambo's that fell to a 55gm butterfly jig, we had a few double and triple hookups on these little fellas...
Next up was Brody with a tasty little Dhu that smashed his Shout jig..
After a few small Dhus a couple of huge bust offs Nelly briefly hooked up to what we suspect was a horse Trout but unfortunately the 20lb leader was not enough to put the breaks on before smoking poor Nelly into the coral below.. oh well there's always next time aye boys..
Good weekend with lots of laughs and a few fish caught cheers boys see ya again next time..

Cheers for the comments crew..
Shizz true we don't hear of a lot of Trout being caught from around my area but I have found over the years a few spots that hold solid Trout if fished the right way...
Brody I'm looking forward to the next trip when we can get out to more productive grounds, I think Nelly is back up this weekend with a new out fit and 60lb leader on hand lol..
Spot on Tim Brody and his beanie fitted right in looked just like a local lol....
Cheers Lloyd
