Quobba in April

Any of you guys been to Quobba in April and what was it like?
We have been in June but were thinking of going earlier next year.

last 2 trips
first trip we did was in late Feb and got the tail end of a cyclone which stuffed up the fishing. Second trip was July with better results, particularly with bottom species. This year going in November and advised best time for Mackies. We mostly spin fish.

Thanks Iceman, we were fortunate with the weather in June and the fishing was pretty good (mainly spinning) but not too keen to be up there in the summer heat and flies!

Mackies
The time for mackies is now, usually ties in at the same time as the pinky season. The pro boats have been getting in to them for the last 5 weeks or so and catches are steady. Should start to taper off in a fortnight when the wind turns SE and cranks up.

what are conditions like up there during october (wind dirrection and water conditions)

I was up in april this year
I was up in april this year fishing was good, was able to get a balloon out most days.
If your wanting to balloon june, july august. If you want to spin summer is the time. low swell so you can fish the lower ledges.( check conditions first).
