12000d Baitrunner opinions

Hi, looking at buying a Shimano Baitrunner 12000D, just wondering if any one on here uses them for beach/rock fishing, I use to use a BTR6500, which I thought was a great reel, just wondering whether the D is as good.  Cheers.     Pob.

My dads got the 6000 one and he runs 30lb braid for fishing off the boat with it. Its a great reel that is nice and smooth and the bait runner is a great feature to have. Only one thing about his though is that the bait runner feature doesnt work sometimes :S it might just be his one..

All in all a great reel.

I got a 8000d loaded with 40lb sunline castaway braid. Havent landed anything descent with it but its a nice reel and no probs. My mates got a ci4 12000 baitrunner which is very nice.

I was mabee looking at selling mine to fund a new reel. I got a 12ft crystal blue to match.

I got a 12000D loaded with a full spool of 50lb fins. Use it mostly with a 10-15kg ugly stick off the boat for floaters for sharks and sambos. Caught a decent Hammerhead on it so far and it handled it easily. Nice reels with plenty of drag.

Cheers, guys, will get one then, needed something with a bit more line capacity than my 8000 stradic, with the benefit of the baitrunner, thanks again.

I've got 3 4500d and 6500d models ad have been using them for ages they are awesome for the boat and I've caught plenty of dhuies sambos sharks ect and for beach they are awesome it's mostly all I use for targeting mulloway. They are cheap very strong smooth and hold a decent amount of line. From the beach I've caught mulloway up to 20kg and been slide baiting large baits for sharks to 3m and rays to 2m across so they are more than strong enough for anything you can throw at them.
