Radio problems

Having problems with my 27 meg radio. Im a bit peeved because its relatively new.
I can hear plenty of chatter. Other boats loging on & rescue ops responding. But they are not receiving me.
The little boat gets bashed about when travelling so the radio gets shaken up. That may be the cause but I would have thought it wouldnt work at all if that were the case.
Obviously its an important bit of kit so need to get it resolved.
Any guesses why i can receive but not transmit?

VSWR check
If for some reason you've transmitted without the antenna connected you may have blown the output. Make sure your coax cable isn't bunched up into tight bends and kinks. Best bet is to take your boat to a two way radio technician and ask for a VSWR check. (Someone on here may even have one and be willing to assist). This check will determine if your radio is producing the required output power and also checks the reflected power (antenna tuning).

Thanks Rosie. Thanks Dale. Im in Mandurah so not far away. The boat will be in for a new engine next week. They arent very interested in advising on the radio though. When the new engine is on Ill message you.

Ok, if I'm not away working I could do it pretty well anytime, otherwise when I get back or Taffy who gets on here might be able to help, he's just a bit east of you.
