Rain water in boat.

I keep my half cabin boat raised and fully covered by a water proof boat cover. But after it rains I find about 3 ltr of water pooling inside, down the rear of the boat. The boat is utterly covered and there are no holes or tears or anywhere the rain can breach the cover... how is this happening?

I did that a minute ago while it was raining. The inside of cover does have a moist/ wet feel to it but no dripping. The water must be seeping through real slowly.

That’s exactly what happened

That’s exactly what happened with mine after a couple of years of use and exposed to Sunlight/UV etc.  The water works it’s way  through the fabric and with gravity will make its way to the lowest point of the cover which I am guessing is probably the back of your boat.

Hose

Get someone to run a hose on it while you are underneath then rub where the water is hitting the cover, you will more than likely find it comes through the fabric

The storage bag it came in is made of the same material.I filled it with water once and it did'nt leak a drop, it's water tight.

if it’s an older “water proof” one, it’s probably water repellant and will still let water through if subjected to enough heavy rain.... I’ve had the same problem previously with fabric covers that were meant to be water proof.   They lose that proofing after a few years

 It's fairly new, off ebay.

It's fairly new, off ebay. It's also water proof and holds water well, this is why I'm puzzled.

Just suggestion

If it is the blue canvas that the canopy's are made of I think you will find it is water resistant
not water proof Unless the bottom side is dry.If it is soaked through (water resistant)
Any parts touching the canvas (water resistant one) it will leak through the canvas.

This is what happens to my canvas canopy. It wont come through when it is tight ,but does get totally soaked and when you touch it the water comes through.

Possible Problem.
