Hi guys, anyone on here in the gearbox rebuild game or had a good experience with someone they can recommend. Broke a tremec t56 at the drags a while back and im gonna pull it out soon but looking at where to take it, any help/recommendation is greatly appreciated. I live nor but happy to travel if it means I'm gonna get a good job that i can rely on ( im not the kindest on the car especially the drive line ).

Depending on the damage
Repair costs can get away from you pretty quick with the T56 I know that much, last time I broke one I bit the bullet and bought a new MM6.

Yeah not expecting it to be
Yeah not expecting it to be cheap, nothing is cheap when you start modifying. Plus ive seen a few gearboxes getting stripped in the past and it looks like a very patient persons job.

Those magnums do look like a
Those magnums do look like a sweet bit of kit im hoping i can just put a band aid behind the motor for a few more years till i can afford a proper driveline. Ran outta money after the motor diff and fuel system haha. But if im gonna get reemed for a rebuild i may aswell save a bit longer and bite the bullet.
Sounds like a sweet addition to a hj ute tho im guessing with that investment its not gonna be an average hj???

Yeah they are pretty
Yeah they are pretty tough
auto would be even better again for drags but if your like me and like to use the clutch n gears they will hold together.
I couldnt tell you how much a rebuild on a t56 would be but with upgraded parts I think you won't get much change out of 3k
the ute yeah she's a labour of love mate..... I'm doing it in stages it will take a few years before she's on the road a couple months ago I bought a hz rts chassis I had that blasted and powder coated then all the steering box rebuilt, new steering bushes new break lines put on, slotted roaters, new breaks, bilsteen suspenesion put in the front end and chucked the body onto the chassis with all new bushes too.
driveline is where I'm up to....ATM it's got 9inch Detroit locker with disks that's in it ..I've got injected 5l which will be getting a lot of work done and then the t56 box aswell but here and paint is where the real dollars start coming into play so I will take my time I'm in no rush. Plus I'm to scared I'll get it impounded.
what car is the box for btw?

Wow! Sounds awsome mate keep
Wow! Sounds awsome mate keep it up all worth it when your driving down the coast in something you built and people are looking and appreciate the time effort and money spent. The box is for my vz clubsport (newschool) wanted oldschool but this was my daily and i accidentally started spending money and broke things so its my project now. Running a built iron block 406ci with a maggi top mout blower. She turns the tyres on wet grass. The box will be copping around 650hp and 700fp tq so im gonna need a solid rebuild.

Im glad the axels have held up droppin one those makes a rite old mess, havent lowered it so they should be ok....... famous last words, next on my list.

They are in Maddington. Come highly recommended by Chev Power also in Maddington. Both these guys work on performance cars especially around the drag racing and speed way scene. Recently had them work on my automatic in my 4WD very happy with the job. Give them a call and see if they can help you out.
