I've heard of a few coming offshore this year, last one was a few weeks back. For this time of year it would be a rare metro capture but seeing as the water hasn't cooled as much as usual it's not really that surprising.
No doubting that. I was talking to some dive boys yesterday after their first dive and said they had seen a few 20kg+ Spaniards. One was shot at but his cord reel spooled so he was well pissed. They did alright anyway.

There was a size one caught at Seabird this year LB, and I caught a baby one about 300mm 3 or 4 yrs ago at the same reef.

95cm caught offshore, not land based. Big surprise , global warming..... Maybe marlin off the rocks in a few years, works for me
