Raymarine Dragonfly without GPS?

After reading the Raymarine Dragonfly review in another thread, its got me wondering whether there is a model from them or another maker that doesn't have the GPS in the unit or do you have to go with the combo
Very impressed with the reports and where most of my fishing is usually under 40-50 metres it would be magic unit.

Na, they all have GPS, and in the days of IC, it costs very little to add a feature like GPS, it is in phones as a freebie these days.
You don't have to run it in splitscreen, so there is really no disadvantage to having the GPS and they are dirt cheap anyhow.

Yep exactly what till said.Basically a free backup gps I def dont use mine but its good to have I feel. Buy one with the bav gold and sell the card. Brings the unit price down too about $560 cant beat that really. Cant wait to use mine again.

Food for thought
Definitely give it some thought, would like a stand alone unit but beggars can't be choosers all the time

No one is really stopping you
No one is really stopping you from doing that either. Certainly the price isn't. TBH, I personally think that way of thinking is a bit outmoded.
If you want redundancy, you just buy two all in one units and run them side by side. That way, should any part of either unit fail, you can pick up the extra functions on the other unit.
That said, I'd feel comfortable buying an all in one and just using an iphone for backup.
