Recent Solar Installations anyone?

 Crew,

I've questioned the gurus here before about solar but because that was about 12 months or more ago and with recent power price hikes which to me is only going to continue i'm going to lock a solar system in asap.

I'm going large 6.5kw + a 5kw inverter, I guess my main reason for this is, 1 they've come down in price and 2, I'm no doubt going to be buying a storage battery in years to come...

Feel free to sway me if you think i'm barking up the wrong tree here.....

Has anyone in the past 6 months or so installed a system with someone they could recommend?

What price did you pay and how many KW?

I'm sure there would be plenty others looking into it so you're help will be widely appreciated.

Boon

Hi Boom, Just installed a 5kw unit at my mums place, but her meter is 3 phase so needed a 3 phase inverter, cost a little more. $4150 installed.

More than happy dealing with them, and a good installation.

If your going to get a battery later, make sure you get the right inverter, as some cannot be connected straight to a battery.

 Word of advice and caution!!

You always see or hear the line "Read the fine print" of all your quotes and invoices before paying anyone well that means nothing because companies still take you for a ride.

I just had 2 companies in WA who promised me the moon and the stars best service and best of everything only to find the first to run away with my $500 deposit. Battled with them for 6 months so I just wrote that off as a loss all together.

Happy to read in the papers recently this company is now under investigation but soon after also read they re-opened with a new name.

Then my next try went from a $3500 all inc. quote after rebate on a 6.5kw system to a $7499 after installation so they were not happy when I told them to remove their product off my roof and shuv it. Bluddy sharks

Be very careful there is many companies offering all the best services and the list goes on. So far I dealt with 2 companies and is not impressed at all I mean some of us have to work and save 3 years to save up 5k.

All the best

wait a few years for better systems with batterys

i put a 2.4 kw system in best it will put out is 1,9 kw , preety crapy result in my opinoin , most inportant thing is keep your panels clean 5% coverage of combined dust and bird crap results in a loss in  95 % efficenty of your pannels not just my opinion but  its a fact  but you dont get told that when you by the systems
