Recommendations for 9" chartplotter

In the market for a new chartplotter.
Order of preferences when considering what to buy;
 - cost $1k to $2k budget.
 - main use as a plotter (replacing old plotter, happy with current seperate sounder unit).
 - hence needs good chart maps for WA coastline
 - fishing mostly metro/two rocks area.
 - prefer 9" size screen
 - touchscreen preferred but not essential.
 - fish finder/sounder and transducer will be considered but of lesser importance.

I'm looking at the Garmin 95sv and comparing other units against that.

If anybody can offer suggestions or their recent experiences with the various map providers, eg. C-map, Bluechart g3, etc... or any other comments on the topic, it would be greatly appreciated.

 That's exactly what I did

 That's exactly what I did Shark. Mounted iPad on a rail using Railblaza fittings. I just need a sun shade to stop it getting too hot. If you get a cellular one and download Navionics with wifi at home you don't need any connection. When I'm on the boat I can hotspot my phone and use it for the usual stuff. Recommended to me by someone who knows a lot about this sort of stuff and I'm very happy.

 Yes it does mate. The guy who pointed me in that direction has fishing marks, dive marks etc. There are 3 different fish marks so you can have demersals for one symbol, KG's for another etc. I can do it so anybody can!

Depends what you want it to

Depends what you want it to do. I have mine hooked up the engine via a NMEA interface and can monitor fuel economy and use, engine temp, water pressure etc and it is also hooked up to the Furuno with a Markfish so that I can mark ground on the Furuno and send the marks to the HDS. I am a bit of a wood duck with gadgets and upgrades though

 Yeah my iPad is prone to overheating in the sun. I've tracked down where to buy a rubber shade but haven't ordered one yet.
