recommendations soft plastic demersal rod ?

Hey guys

After pushing my salty fighter way beyond its capabilities on the weekend I am looking for a demersal soft plastic/jig rod probably about a PE 3.

I take it PE 3 is about right for this I usually fish 30-40m what are peoples thoughts on rod length

So far a mate has recommended a demon blood 64 combi jerk, has anyone got any other recommendations?

I will either put my Sol 4000 or saltiga 4000H on it so it has to be spin

cheers

Lemax SlimMax

Have a look at the Lemax SlimMax SM-SJ 600-2.  These match up fantastically with 4000 size Daiwa reels and are really ballsy rods.  They look great too.

Drop into Anglers' Spot on High Rd for a squiz.

Plastic and Jig

Tue, 2013-01-08 17:41

Do many of you use the same rod for jigging and soft plastics?  I think ideally the plastics rod wants to be a bit longer but sometimes seem to have to many rods on board........

Can you jig with the Combi jerk? it's a lovely looking rod, really tempted to get one.

Eupro

Saw a Eupro pe1-3 at compleat angler on the weekend. I think it was called a Giant King. About $200

It had a nice action, good length butt and 6' long. Loaded up nicely.

Majorcraft Crostage are also nice (have a few myself).

Majorcraft

I should clarify that the Major Craft Crostage is nice for jigging but not so flash for soft plastics. A bit to stiff in the top section. They do some longer models that may be OK.

I have picked up an Azusa AES682M for soft plastics...yet to be blooded.

Sorry for the thread hijack...

Tue, 2013-01-08 21:05

Sorry to butt in, but I'm in a similar situation at the moment, looking for a replacement/ upgrade for my recently deseaced tcurve... Do you guys think the demon blood would be a good match for a certate hyper custom 4000 running pe3? Or would it be a bit of overkill?

also, who in perth north of river stocks them? I live in the north, but pass through perth while fifoing regularly so am willing to trek to save the postage...

cheers, and sorry again for jumping in

 Your not butting in quobba

I had a look at one at cambells the other day, nice rods I suppose it's hard to say on the overkill factor each to their own on that.

I have a couple of other eupro rods that I like so I will probably look at the ones recommended above and compare

Eupro Giant King

Thu, 2013-01-10 08:44

We stock the Eupro Giant King rods instore and as mentioned they have a bit of length on them at 6 foot. Dylan my mate has one and is starting to get some nice fish on it. At $180 Fishwrecked Price they are a nice rod. For a slightly heavier PE3 rod than the Demon Blood Combi Jerk is a winner which we will have back in stock soon.
