Reddies ...

Hit Harvey for a day trip. Got there for sun
up .. banged a few Redfin first up . Went
quiet watched a little rainbow come in the
shallows circling a bee stuck on the surface.
only trout we seen all day . Arvo came along
and the reddies went nuts right upto dark.
couldn't even see the celtas we were using
but they could!! Bit of spin out ! Ended up
with maybe 800grams filleted from 24 fish.
cheers pirate..

Harvey
Nice haul there Pirate.
I fish Harvey a fair bit with the Old man.
At 76 it's about as hard as he can fish these days.
He loves the Reddies to eat.
I've set his tinny up with an electric motor and we troll deep minnows.
Very easy to fill a bucket with the small to medium size fish.
We have found we do better on bigger fish 30-40cm by using lure than can run 4+ meters deep.
We also pick up a dozen Trout each year as bycatch.
From shore first and last light are the best times.

Just out of interest, is it illegal to camp at Harvey Dam now and if it is, is it enforced ? Have not been there for years as the last time it was a shit show with drunks.
I could easily google it, just wanted to know opinions.
