Most small soft plastic grubs

Most small soft plastic grubs are dynamite on the Redfin mate. Id be using zman grubs in whatever colour you like, personally I've done well on watermelon red and the ever reliable motor oil.

Small yabby/marron imitation soft plastics are deadly as well as they resemble what most Redfin will be feeding on.

If you're in deepish water you can give micro jigs a go as well. Just drop them to the bottom and jig them with short sharp jerks.

Lachie I used to catch redfin

Lachie I used to catch redfin just using some cheap orange and white soft plastic grubs I bought from Kmart. I'd imagine the newer ones on the market nowadays would go great. Not sure if you can still get them but the old crappie tail (?) jigs were meant to be dynamite and were cheap as chips so it didn't matter if you lost a few to snags

Are you land based or fishing

Are you land based or fishing from a craft of some sort?  I've had a lot of success with vibes/blades when fishing from a canoe.  Colour didn't seem to matter.

we have caught them in dams using a feather jug just being dragged slowly across the bottom. honestly, if its moving then a redfin will eat it.
