Reel advice

 Hi Guys

I recently bought a rovex Big boss surf rod 12 foot and l am thinking of buying a Pflueger Salt Surf rod 10 foot has anyone else had any experience with these rods?

I also want a reel to suit the rods l would mainly use it on Tailor, salmon and mulloway l was thinking of a reel around the 6000 size as l would be casting big weights what are some good reels under $200 for the beach.

Thanks in advance

personally i wouldnt of gone the rovex i would of gone the penn prevail they are awesome rods for the price and a beach reel for under 200 theres a lot around mate but u need to take good care of them as the sand and the salt water will destroy your reel very quickly i reccomend going the stradic fj 6000 or for a bit more the biomaster 6000 or a spheros 5000    but if you want a great reel for the beach with enough drag and line cap for around $160 i would go the new shimano soroccos 6000 is a nice reel i can give you some links on where to get them cheap just pm me also another great reel for around the 250 mark is the daiwa vadel

Nothing wrong with the rovex.

Nothing wrong with the rovex. Decent rod that will do well if you look after it. The only way to go is a reel for each rod. I'd put a spinfisher on the rovex, bcf has em for 109 atm. Then I'd put a 5 thousand Spheros on the pflueger. I know it's more than you really want to spend but you could just stick one of em on layby & be better off in the long run.

Its not a bad buy but for that price there are better rods out there imo also i would always pay the extra dollars on a rod that will last longer and has all the features ie fuji compontary etc i also have seen the rovex rods and they have a really large diameter blank just my opinion im sure it wiull be fine

I've had a 10 ft penn rod

I have a 10 ft penn rod that I paid $70 for 10 years ago, its one of my favourite all round rods and had pulled in some stonkers! Teamed up with a penn 760 on 50 pund braid, or my penn 850ss with 30 pound mono.
