Reel to Match Demon Blood CJ64

Hi everyone,

Been having a look around for a "general purpose" rod for light PE3 jigging and some SP work. I am leaning strongly towards the Demond Blood CJ64.

As for a reel to match I am thinking the Caldia 4000, Sustain 5000 or the Sargosa 5000.

Anyone have input from their experiences which might help in making the decision.

Cheers Steve

Hey Brenz...... Thanks for the feedback. The JMs are about a foot shorter that the CJ64 and I was thinking that the extra length would be of use when using the SPs.

Any feelings on the reels?

Steve

4000 sol

I use the 4000 sol on the cj64. Great outfit & well balanced. Sustain 5000 would be a good alternative if you are into Shimano.

stella 5000 all the way. lol either the sustain or the caldia for me, the saragosa in that size is way heavier.

Yeah I thought the Saragosa might have been a bit heavy. Sustain and Caldia both get nice reviews and handle nicely. Might come down to the deal I can get....Stella would be nice but that would be stretching the budget a bit far

I would personally lean towards the sustain but I am shimano biassed when it comes to reels, shimano rods on the other hand. But you will be very happy with the demon blood

 Can you afford a Twinpower?

Can you afford a Twinpower? I doubt you'll notice the difference between one and a Stella. Both are awesome reels.

Tim-O/Stevef the Seagate 3500 sounds nice - how do you find the drag? enough?  Something I thinking about maybe upgrading too.

I've got a Daiwa Phantom J 4500 with a bling bling JM knob on mine running Daiwa Acuudepth 40lb braid

Sun, 2012-07-01 06:39

Iv got my seagate on a newly purchaced snapper placcy rod now, more suited to 20 lb coz its only got 5-6kg drag and I feel the cj has plenty more. So Im either going to upgrade the drag on the seagate and spool it with 40lb or go for another reel for the cj. I like daiwa reels but Iv been introduced to the benifits of a shimano. A 5000 shimano is small and light and has 10 kg drag, the sustain fg has a similar eva knob too.
