Replacing carpet on trailer slides

Has anyone got experience with replacing the carpet on trailer slides. Are there any trips or traps. Did you have someone else do it and if so what cost. 6.85m glass boat. Two slides about 3.3m long. Any suggestions appreciated. I live NOR.

Is that what you have Rob?

How slippery is it when driving the boat back on? Does your boat stay put once you hit the bow roller or will it want to slide back down if you don't have your motor going?

yeah I do, but with a glass boat.
Im actually in the process of replacing with rollers though.

Its much more slippery than carpet, which simply isnt at all.
But still takes a fair effort to get mine off which is a pain if alone.

Briefly 3/4 throttle with twin DF115's to move it.

HPDE thats what i use on my drive on trailer,it can be quite slippery it all depends on the angle of your trailer and how far the trailer is in the water. But that will vary between boats to boats

With my boat/trailer if my trailer is just a tad to far into the water the boat will slide of on its own, pretty annoying when your trying to undo the winch cable and the boat keeps sliding. When it comes to driving on it goes on just as easy as it comes off but i do have to hold it in gear to keep it from sliding down.

Duralite trailers sell that plastic strip and they also have the poly bunks

If you end up going carpet, a bit of silicone spray helps launching and retrieving if your boats heavy.
