Made in China or Sweden

Made in China or Sweden model??

From what I can see.....just on the outside. Not much you can do. Maybe just clean off all the paint and can try to buff up the metal parts. Unless the reel is running rough there's not much you can do with exterior corrosion/rust

"made in sweden 01" is what i see on the reel.

do u suggest sanding down the paint? seems to me that it still runs smooth. just the looks of the reel is kind of a put off..

whats your point on this reel?

If you want to do a proper job

get a wire buff, take the old paint off, is it alloy or steel? youll need to know this for spraying with new paint...if its alloy youll need to do a base coat of etch primer, if steel use a rust primer first ,and youll obviously get a much nicer finish using spray than using brush.

Whats the value of the reel, might be better off just using it untill it dies and throwing it away....if it was a once valuable reel worth the effort to clean it up then thats the way to do it.
