Ribbed for its pleasure?

A mate has to replace some rollers on his boat trailer. It's a 7.6 jackman, and it actually crushed 2 rollers on our way to denham last weekend.
Is there any difference between ribbed and smooth rollers?? As in, is one for ally, and on for fibreglass?
I think the ribbed ones are a bit cheaper, but he wants to make sure he's getting the right type.

have a good look
have a good look to make sure its not due to the rollers being set out of whack or adjacent ones slipping down. Shouldnt really be able to crush just 2 rollers significantly if its sitting evenly on all of them, Id think?
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
