R.I.P - Ivan Erceg
Submitted by Brucesta on Thu, 2013-09-26 07:44
I just read this morning that it was Ivan Erceg who was tragically killed while competing in the Australasian Safari yesterday. I was only reading in a fishing mag the other day about him and Whitey of Jurien Bay winning the World Gamefishing Champs after winning the Perth GFC tornament earlier this year. I don't know the bloke personally but i'm sure some of you southerners will. R.I.P Ivan and condolences to the family and friends of Ivan.

Didnt get to meet him either , even though I have been to some of the safari openings, sounds like a top bloke, a real mans man
loved his bikes, fishing and his family.( 2 girls) same as me.
It does bring things home ,as I love my quadding , fishing and a sole dad to two great girls, I just dont take the risks
I might of once.

No shit,
I didn't realise he was the guy that won the champs with whitey. I literally spoke to him on Monday to organize concreting through his business.

He's from Carnarvon and a good family friend of my wife, and even closer mates with my circle of friends ... Everyone is pretty gutted..![](http://fishwrecked.com/sites/all/libraries/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/sad_smile.gif)
But at least he died doing something he LOVED!! And not taken out by some drunken knob driving home from the pub..

Yep wild boy that Ivan , well known and liked by all in the offroad racing sceen .
Mate of mine was riding with him and another mate was crewing for him, so didn't go down to well . But I'm pretty sure knowing the rest of the outback guys that plenty of drinks would have been consumed !! Ha

may have met him
Was in the coral coast caravan park in Carnarvon 2 weeks ago, and spoke to a bloke that looked just like him. He was working there, fitting some lights in some of the cabins. Could that have been him? Was a top guy, mate and I spoke to him for ages. I emailed caravan park to ask them, but had no reply. Does anyone know if he was the guy we were talking to?
