Rod 4 stella 4000fe

I'm looking for a soft plastic rod for a Stella 4000fe. They were heavily reduced so couldn't pass it up!

I have brought the line, varivas 10x10 jigging braid 1.5 pe, 28lb

Rods that have caught my interest are:

G Loomis pro blue 7' 12-25lb

Lox Yoshi Blade 6 10', 6-8kg

Samurai Kestrel 7', 10-20lb

Temple Reef Mytho,  5 10', 1-3pe

NS Magic Eye Torque, 7 8', pe2-4

Shimano Type J spin 1.91m, pe1-3

What do you think? Is a big investment and will be my go to pinkie combo. Just too many choices

and any help would be greatly appreciated

it's an awesome rod, I've got a baitcast pe1-3 model for a ryoga bay jigger. Just thought it might b too short for a spin plastics combo

You may want a bit longer rod for plastics. I jig with mine. Smashed a few 8kg dhuies last time out with whitey.

Samurais are nice, I have a Gloomis GLX walleye with recoils on a similar sized daiwa and it's possibly the nicest combo I own, so light and sensitive. 7ft would be an ideal size.

If you want something a bit

If you want something a bit longer for plastics, I'm a big fan of the Yamaga Blue Snipers in the PE3 range.

I used to have a Blue Sniper 65/3 which would probably be spot on, but I do much more casting with it than I do plasticing, so sold it and bought a 77/3, which suits me better (and which I also use for plastics, but it is a bit long).

Really light tip on them. No problem casting down to 20grams, but at the same time I've landed heaps of big fish including a dozen or so sailfish to 45kg+ on it, as it has plenty of guts. Awesome rod.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Hey BarraSlayer.

As some of the above comments say, we do recommend a longer rod for a dedicated soft platics rod, around the 7 foot length just to get more action on the plastic with a whipper tip.

We do stock the Shimano Type J range of rods (the S643 would suit your 4000FE perfect), also receiving more Temple Reef Mytho Plus rods. (we are currently out of stock due to high demand)

Another rod to look at would be the Extreme FWA Soft Plastics rod 8-10kg 7''. We use these rods alot when fishing for snapper on soft plastics, alot of "get up and go" when you need it and a very well priced rod

Feel free to PM us and find out more about the other rods that we mentioned.

Or pop into the store and have a look for yourself.

Thanks.
