Rod Holder

I have these type of alloy rod holders installed by the previous owner on the back of my boat. Is anyone using these or tried these for trolling. Especially for Exmouth for Mackies, rankin cod, Coral Trout etc. If so how did they go-comments please?
I do have two normal in-mount gunnel rod holders (Not shown in this pic -The black holders are for the bait board). I want at least 3 rods out the back without cutting more holes in the boat thus thought I may be able to use these alloy holders??

They seem a bit lightwieght for the big gear, last thing ya want is a huge hook up and no rod.

Don't think they would break
But would check how it's mounted, doesn't look like its screwed to much

Rod Holder
I would use stainless steel bolts instead of screws and just make sure you set your drag so if you get a hookup it does not rip the lot out of the boat, set the drag so the lure is not peeling line off, I think they will be ok with these few things in mind !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree need to bolt but if using stainless
Just make sure you pack with a Teflon spacer or similar and silicon or your paint will peel, due to electrolysis of the dissimilar metals

Not really made for trolling those ones. It's a real victorian snapper type rod holder.
Cast bait out the back while anchored, medium sort of drag setting, then in the holder. These work really well at anchor, you get a good hook up, but they rely on the rod tip being taken straight down, so as the rod stays in the holder.
