Rod/reel storage

Hey all,

Just doing some research for a project I have coming up and thought I might ask a few questions about how you store your rods and reels.

1. Do you store your rods or reels inside or in the shed?

2. How many rods/reels do you have?

3. Do you use a rod rack?

4. How much is your average rod/reel worth (Cheap = <$200, Mid range = $200-500, High End = >$500)

5. Do you display your rods/reels?

6. Would you display your rods/reels in an art piece rod/reel rack on a wall in the shed or inside to show them off?

7. Would your family prevent you from displaying your rods/reels ?

8. Would you pay $150-300 for a custom built rod/reel rack to display your rods as an art piece?

9. Would you want a combined tackle/fishing equipment/Rod/Reel rack?

Edit: 10. Do you store your reels on your rods

Thanks in advance,

Bryan

Would be nice to incorporate some sort of rack and storage, at the moment my tackle and other bits and peices are either stacked next to the rod rack, floating round the back of the car or tucked away in the shed.

  2. guess about 10 rod n reels
  3. Yes
  4. Med high end
  5. yes
  6. yes
  7. no
  8. yes

Here's my take.... Ive got a Jarvis walker one...it's ok, but..quite honestly it looks like chit and untidy, I find I can't fit much on there as the reels get in the way. because Rods I use often I like geared up ready to go.

and the others  racked up in rack with reels in a draw

id buy something for sure that's functional and looks good in the corner per say.

1. Good ones inside cheaper

Fri, 2015-06-05 14:07

1. Good reels inside cheaper ones in shed - Rods are all in the shed - either at home or where I store the boat (like to have good ones at home I case I jump aboard with a mate as the boat is a 3 hour round trip away).

2. around 12-15 rod reel combos

3. No

4. midrange to (lower end of) high range

5. No

6. No

7. Wife - yes she would - not that I want to - I'd rather hide them from prying eyes

8. No - rather put it towards another rod/reel - more interested in storing/keeping them in good condition

9. No

10. Only o couple of cheaper ones that stay in the boat ready to go - otherwise rod in a tube or cloth bag (or both) and reels in a cloth bag and then in a larger reel bag (have two reel bags one for smaller lighter reels and one for the heavier/larger stuff.

Wasnt a good idea to have combos rigged up and on a rack in the spare room. Apparently I needed an intervention to stop buying fishing gear.... much easier gor me if its out of sight of the missus.
