2nd Hand Outboards

Just looking for some advice from the outboard boffins on what I should be looking at for a 5-5.3m fibreglass boat in regard to the outboard?
Ideally I want one that has a recent Yamaha, Suzuki or Honda 4 stroke outboard or an older one with low hours in the 90-115hp range.
If, I found a boat with a 2 stroke that I like what are the pitfalls I should be looking at in regard to age and hours?

Low hours motor can still
Low hours motor can still suffer in regards to corrosion (mainly depends on how well its flushed/stored)
Can also be more susceptible to impellors becoming brittle and then overheating issues, Regular servicing impellor changes will generally eliminate the later.
Higher hours = more wear/relative to how run (revs) and general maintenance.
All in all High or low hours are both a lottery for various reasons so either way get a marine mechanic to check once you've found one you like.
Older models (be it 2 or 4 stroke) will chew more fuel then newer models which will be relative to running costs and travelling range. Resale also a factor (not only value - but getting a potential buyer to come and have a look in the first place).

Cheers mate, the one I am looking at is an oil injected 2004 Yamaha 2 stroke with 350 hours which doesn't sit quite right

Not sure what you mean by
Not sure what you mean by doesn't sit quite right??? roughly 35 hours per year nothing really wrong with that (wear won't be an issue) - ask for service history and if that's good maybe get it checked out by a mech.
All depends on the boat it comes with and what is being asked.
