Rottnest magic

Hi all

Just back from spending 8 great days at Rotto with the family. One word to describe our adventure, MAGIC. What a place, it never disappoints. I have never seen so much surface action at Rotto before. Between Rocky Bay and Cathedral rocks the water was buzzing and the Mackerel were jumping. People did not believe me until they saw it for themselves. I spent most of the time with the kids snorkling Fays and surrounding bays, caves everywhere and my 7 year old was unstoppable. He is yet to have the shark thought in the back of his mind. We saw a lot of sharks, mostly wobbies but a few other small ones. Noy sure what to be honest, brownish with a few spots. This did not phase him at all, infact my son wanted to go a say hello to them. We stayed well clear. The crays were good until the moon came out. We pulled 4 wobbies in the pots over the week and two occies. Arn't the wobbies fun to remove from the pot. If you are thinking of planning a trip, Rotto is a place you should consider if you can get a place to stay. The wind was up everyday, however, being based on the North side was the go. There are plenty of big skippy in close at the moment. Nothing out wider as the current was really running. I guess because of the moon and tide at the time. We are heading back in April, looking forward to that already.

Best holiday we have had yet.

Dave
