Rottnest New Years Eve
Submitted by Rob H on Sat, 2023-08-05 10:47
Planning on Rotto this year for NYE and onwards after having missed a few years.
The website is a shitshow, last time I did this I booked a pen for that night then the beach moorings for the rest of the time.
Looking at the website, there is no moorings, pens, anything for the entire january.
The boating guide doesnt say anything I can see about where you can and cant anchor other than fairways so I'm assuming can anchor either south Thomson or North Thomson if nothing available?

yeah I remember there was some quirk in that booking process to do with the numbers but when I go into the next page "make a booking" every one is greyed out with a line thru "full day"
And thats only searching 31/12 to 1/1/24

You can't book this far in
You can't book this far in advance. You can only book a mooring or beach pen up to 100 days prior.
So for NYE you can book from midnight September 21st

thanks Matty
Right, that would make sense, but why the fuck doesnt the website say that.
"Whether you’re looking to book something last-minute, or need to reserve facilities 100 days in advance, there are a number of offshore swing moorings, jetty and beach pens available."
But doesnt actually say you cant book more than 100 days in advance.

100 day limit
Yes, there is a 100 days in advance limit for mooring bookings, but also note that you can't make a multi-day booking that goes beyond the 100 day limit.
So for example if you book NYE at the earliest possible day, you will need to make new bookings for each beyond new years as the 100 days rolls over.

yeah...
Even worse, they are going to try and run the Abrolhos in a similar manner, building a $13M "MDF" so that several departments can lick the bowl dry over there
