Rotto Box looking the goods last week, til.....

Hey all thought id share it with you. Mate of mine sent me this of his mates out at Rotto box last week looking very inviting. They were towing in for a while but soon stopped after seeing a white cruise past, After checking the photos they found this. Look at the wave now closely have a look near the barrell. BIG boy/girl that one huh.

You would hope they would be well fed with all the seals around. The most scared ive ever been in the water was at cathedrals, the channel looks deep and dark and throw in a few seals and salmon and you have a pretty good entree. Would have sent shivers down your spine seeing this pic after being out there.

im with you, if thats a jet ski in the left i think that shark would be no bigger then 2.5m, maybe a bronzie?

bad logic

Nah man, theres a few blokes on that ski so its atleast a 2 but probly a 3 seater and my 3 seater seado is over 3m's long, also that ski is alot closer to the camera then the shark and in that pic the shark looks bigger then the ski. So i reakon it would atleast be a 4m shark.

I agree totally

if you look at the size of the wave, size of the ski and people on it, and also that the shark may not be in the wave but behind it you are looking at a big un. And the shape and colouration you can see I would guess a GW rather than a whaler, but that is a guess.

Still good to get out of the H2O with that hunkering around.

Scary shit aye, i always wonder how many times ive been surfing and sharks have just cruised past without me even knowing it was there.
I was surfing exmouth bomby a few years ago with a mate and was aparently circled by a large tiger which was seen by someone up at the light house with binoculars, me and my mate didnt see it when we were out there so i dunno if he was lying or not, it was enough to make my gf not let me back in the water that trip tho.

Yeah scary times when you see something. Ive had a few scares, nothing more than a time surfing with Blackgen and one other dude at an outter reef. They both caught a wave and i was just about near the take off zone when i saw the dorsal and tail fins coming towards me. We pretty much walked on water back to the boat haha

I can remember seeing the same thing one arvo at Starks, Backlit conditions around 4-5foot and a nice set stacks up as we are standing on the last bit of shallow reef before you have to jump in the channell.Saw a Silouette of a big Noah patrolling half way up the face...checked my wetsuit and decided maybe an arvo session was not the call.....

Also was surfing Nanarup in Albany and looked at the beach to see people Waving about frantically,Caught a wave straight in and was told there was a 3 meter white only 10 meters from me.
