Rotto fishing spots

A group of us are heading out around 8 or 9am sometime over the next few days to go see our mate pull his pots. He's no good for fishing spots and I've got no real boat fishing experience out there I can rely upon so I'm looking for some pointers. Apparently the West End is where we wanna be concentrating on this time of year, as the bigger things like to linger - however we don't mind drifting for KG's or smaller edibles.

Main thing I wanna know is if we end up drifting around the W.E. or nearby (outside the sanctuary zone of course), is it worth throwing a few jigsheads / SP's down or am I best to use a sturdy Paternoster with baits ? Would be good to get into something bigger like a YTK / Sambo etc.

We leave from Fremantle, so we will probably also troll 1 or 2 lures once we are going, but I am interested to know if blue mackeral will work as a good Spaniard bait, since thbey're around.

Cheers in advance for any info.

Yep - I found 40 - 45m to be the sweet spot at Rotto. I don't target Sambos or Kingies though - more Pinkies and Dhuefish - so if you don't mind them thats the spot to head. Also I wouldn't be too fussed about going directly to West End (although I have heard there are YTK's there). Anywhere 10k South or North of West End is good country (and beyond actually).

Awesome cheers fellas, yeah sounds good. Pots are in about 20m of water currently, only fish we encountered the past few weeks are hungry grinners lingering when we pulled them up.
