tim-o he was advised in a meeting last year against using peptides and enhacers but still went ahead with the programme. There was always no clear cut opinion on whether they were legal. Hence the charges of bringing the game into disrepute. He should have stood down months ago along with the rest of the board while the investigation went on. The whole comp is fucked up because of it. But I do agree the AFL has handled this verrry poorly along with the media hounds, but that's what you get for being in the public spotlight. He get's paid for it.
On a side note I hear the AFL is toying with a wild card entry for 8th spot next year. 8th,9th and 10th will battle it out for a spot.

I dont understand why the AFL waited so long and dragged this out. The ARL dont stuff around like this. If you breach one of their codes like the Storm did, bang no point for a year. Serve the sentence and then we can all get on with it.
Now the players, fans etc off essendon have no idea what is going to happen. But then I dont believe ignorance is an excuse for the players. If you took a banned substance you are guilty. End of story.
Why would you ever get injected with a substance without knowing exactly what it is baffles me. Anyone in their right mind would refuse.

If they were given advice it wasn't banned (as has been claimed) then there is a grey area that needs to be sorted. Imagine if your boss told you it was ok to do something so you did it then his boss comes along and fires you for it. Would you appeal it or say oh well I should have known better ?
As an essendon member I hope this gets resolved sooner rather than later. I think they should take a hit this year then start fresh next year. It seems its gone way beyond that now though.

Neither wa team has an easy draw... we both travel every second week... unlike the melbourne clubs that play the majority of their games without getting in a plane. The draw is the draw. Its never going to be even until we play more home and away games, lesss preseason and less finals and play each other twice.
Bottom line is the Freo gets slammed for being too defensive. Well the proof is that they're not.

I apologize if I bore you. After 19 years of putting up with boring statements about how crap fremantle have been I am really ready to dish some back. And you guys are just going to have to suck it up. I am sure you know the old saying, "you're only as good as your last game"? Well guess what, based on that, Freo are very very good, and West Coast aren't.
The day is fast approaching that Fremantle will lead the derby count AND have more flags than West Coast, so your supporters will need to find some new material.

Were they a good side? Or an average side well coached. I think you should be more concerned for the hard years your team has ahead of it. No small forwards. A small slow midfield. A defence that almost completely relies upon an aging champion and after he goes there aint much. Todays paper suggests the toasters are looking at trading for a player that can't even get a game in a bottom eight team! Now thats progress! I would suggest its time to rebuild and rethink for you guys, starting with the coach.
freo, we're in good shape. Shown we can win without our superstars, our midfield has a few years together, fyfe is only 22. Hill about the same. Real quality coming thru in crozier, sutcliffe, sheridan. Quality smalls, a defence that can strangle offensive teams even without three of its best playing.

Finals footy is a lot about luck.
Are you fully fit, is your opposition fully fit, are you in form, is your opposition in form, has your opposition played above itself to get where it is OR are you playing a real quality finals hardened team, do you get a bad injury early in the final, does your opposition get a bad injury, which way does the ball bounce in a tight finish and so on.
Lots of things in your control but also lots out of it, that's why any team is a chance of beating the other on any given day.

I rate geelong on present form. Looks like we will play them first up and over east. After that game everyone will know exactly if freo are the goods or not. If we can win that one well the world us our oyster. Hawks are looking vulnerable. Sydney questiobable. Pies are coming good. Tigers probably dobt remember what a final is. Essendoping wont be there and port and carlton dont match up to us. Geelong is the big danger. Knock them over first up.

The knobs who can afford a corporate box?? plenty of that set in other clubs too mate. I personally don't boo when I get the opportunity of going to a game. And my ass is always planted till the end. I just like watching footy.

This is all important in the big games IMO and thats why unfortunately Freo will battle.
The teams above us have near on full lists available Fremantle have not. 5 or 6 A grade boys not there or under done for big games.
Don't tell tim-o but IMO the Hawks with stuff all injuries look the team you would not want to meet over there.
Geelong or Sydney yeah we are a fair chance.
Richmond seem to all but have our measure dunno why.
